HSI Solar Powers First Baptist Athletics' New Denny Barrett Fieldhouse

At HSI Solar, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve—and we’re proud to share the latest example of that commitment. HSI installed a solar system for First Baptist Athletics' new Denny Barrett Fieldhouse and we have committed to managing and maintaining the system at no cost.
Ongoing support for this system reflects HSI Solar’s continued dedication to sustainability, education, and community engagement. The state-of-the-art 36,000-square-foot athletic facility will serve as a vital resource for student-athletes and community members alike, and now it will be powered by clean, renewable energy.
“HSI’s contribution underscores the importance of sustainability in modern facility design,” an announcement from the FBA stated. “By leveraging renewable energy, the Denny Barrett Fieldhouse sets a standard for environmentally conscious infrastructure in community sports facilities, significantly reducing its carbon footprint.”
The 50.3 kW solar system is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 58.8 metric tons each year—the same environmental benefit as eliminating 149,638 miles of driving by a standard gasoline vehicle.
Named in honor of longtime teacher and coach Denny Barrett, the fieldhouse is a tribute to leadership, character, and the spirit of community—values that HSI is proud to support.
This project is a shining example of what’s possible when community partnerships and sustainability go hand in hand. We’re honored to contribute to a brighter, greener future.
